Targeting Cellulite

Getting rid of cellulite is one of the most common body goals for women. Treating isn’t as easy it always seems.

Cellulite is made of fat; waste materials and excess fluid build-up that are compressed under the skin. The fat cells increase in size and push through the layers of the skin, which then create a dimpled effect on the skin.

You can find cellulite on your legs, buttock, arms and belly. These parts of our body have higher fat retention, these areas also tend to have a lower blood circulation, so the toxins and excess fluids are not easily carried away by the bloodstream or lymphatic

system.

What Causes Cellulite?

While cellulite may be a connected to excess weight, the dimpled effect also known as orange peel effect can also develop on a body with no excess fat.

Cellulite is caused when expanding fat cells cross through and become trapped in the fibrous tissues beneath the skin.

Cellulite is also more commonly seen in women because women’s connective tissue runs parallel to the fat cells, whereas men’s connective tissue runs perpendicular, making it more difficult for the fat cells to pass through the membrane.

This unwanted skin condition may be worsened due to:

· Genetics

· Hormonal changes

· Weight gain or weight loss

· Sedentary lifestyles

· Smoking

· Poor diet

· Age

It is very difficult to avoid cellulite formation however, there are treatments available to help fat cell form expanding and also to keep the circulation optimal in the affected area.

How to treat cellulite?

At Aesthetic centre Olympia we have a large varity of treatment to help improve and prevent the formation of cellulite.

The BTL x-wave radiofrequency treatments can help improve the appearance of cellulite by increase circulation in the deeper layers of the skin to help drain the excess fluid.

Scientific research has proven that the X-Wave treatment stimulates microcirculation in the tissue. An accelerated blood flow and vasomotor activity stimulates lipolysis, whereas a slower blood flow causes fat storage. All of these effects reduce the dimpled effect of the skin that is cellulite.

The BTL exilis radiofrequency treatment is a non-surgical skin tightening and fat reduction procedure which stimulates fat lipolysis (programmed death of fat cells) using ultrasound technology and skin tightening (including collagen and elastin production) using radiofrequency.

A course of treatments are done over a 6 week period for the best possible results.
